The wind was howling, leaving a cold and unfriendly veil over the scenery. Enaile pulled her black coat made out of wool tighter around herself. She had not been in Illduk for years. She had actually just been there once since she left her parents. That was a half year after their death. She was just there to check out their old mansion, finding it colder and more hostile than ever. Enaile pulled out a brooch shaped as a skull out of her pocket and placed it in her light hair.
Growilda's it said with small, wobbly letters on the wooden sign that were halfway covered with snow. Enaile had never been there before, even though she used to visit about every pub and inn when she still lived in Illduk. She pulled off her cloak and stepped into the pub.
The heat stroke her at once, and the brisk smell of meat tickled her nostrils. Some demons sat cluttered in a corner, feasting over a steak. On the other side of the room sat a well groomed man and a vampire mistress, stroking each other and giggling. Enaile stepped down from the stairs and met the rest of the people and creatures eyes. "Oh, new meat!" she heard some rugged men say in the corner. "Oh, no, she ain't new. She's a Duothe. The daughter of that couple that died some years ago. The daughter that killed her brother and left her parents and home some years late. Oh, yes, it's her. I can still remember her face." it came from an old man next to her, saying it like a hoarse whisper. Who was that man?
